May to 20th. May 2005 ) Standing on the Kuari Pass at an elevation of 14,000ft. the jagged grandeur of the mighty Himalayas pierces one’s vision. We have a breath taking view of Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Neelkantha, Kamet, Ghori Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Nanda Devi, Dunagiri and Trishul. Trekking through primitive jungle, the entire trail passing through small villages where faith and tradition dates back to centuries, is rich in flora and fauna. Lord Curzon had trekked on this trail and hence it is also known as ‘Curzon Trail’ . One of the hottest sulphur springs in India make’s Tapovan a place to visit. A hot water bath after a tiring trek, makes you feel lively and energetic. Programme : The expedition will commence from Pune on 05-5-2005 by 1077 Jhelum Express. 06-5-05 : Delhi to Hrishikesh ( bus ) 07-5-05 : Hrishikesh to Basecamp ( bus ) 08-5-05 : Basecamp to Gauna ( 08kms. ) 09-5-05 : Gauna to Ramni ( 08kms. ) 10-5-05 : Ramni to Jenji ( 15kms. ) 11-5-05 : Jenji to Pana ( 11kms. ) 12-5-05 : Pana to Dhakwani ( 15kms. ) 13-5-05 : Dhakwani to Kuari Pass to Kuari Bundha ( 11kms. ) 14-5-05 : Kuari Bundha to Tapovan ( 14kms. ) 15-5-05 : Tapovan to Joshimath ( bus ) 16-5-05 : Joshimath to Badrinath to Joshimath ( bus ) 17-5-05 : Joshimath to Hrishikesh ( bus ) 18-5-05 : Haridwar sightseeing 19-5-05 : Delhi 20-5-05 : Pune Gradient - Medium Expedition is approved by I.M.F. Fees - Rs. 07,100/- ( food basecamp to basecamp) Participation a)The expedition begins and ends at Pune. The participation fees include the annual correspondence fees and to and fro travel fare from Pune to Pune by second class. Expenses such as tea, breakfast, lunch, dinner from base camp to base camp are also included in the fees. b)All participants have to bear their other expenses such as sightseeing, shopping, reporting to Pune, meals during travel, porters and medical expenses if they fall sick during the programme etc. c)The participants who enrol their names in writing 65 ( sixty five ) days before the departure of the concern expedition will only have confirmed railway reservations. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of ZHEP ( T.T.B. - T.H.P. ) on any nationalised bank payable at Pune and send it by regular post. Special Leave The Indian Mountaineering Foundation will approve these trekking expeditions except Everest Basecamp. The participants working in Govt. and semi-govt. undertaking companies shall have right of special leave for these expeditions. ZHEP will not take responsibility for sanctioning the special leave. Rules for Cancellation The member who applies in writing for the cancellation of his/her participation before 30 days from the date of the concern expedition will be refunded 50% of the fees and before 15 days from the date of the concern expedition will be refunded 30% of the fees. No refund will be given to the member who is unable to complete the trek or abandons the same. The refund will be issued by local cheque only.
